Alleged kidnapper held on $750,000 bond

NORFOLK - An attorney has been appointed for a Norfolk man accused of kidnapping his estranged wife, and the man remains in the Madison Jail on $750,000 bond.  Forty-nine-year-old Kevin Heldt appeared in Madison County Court Tuesday, requesting a court-appointed attorney. Judge Donna Taylor appointed Norfolk attorney Ron Temple to represent Heldt, who is charged with kidnapping, violation of a protection order, making terroristic threats and strangulation.  Heldt is accused of kidnapping Rhonda Heldt from her home in Tilden on May 19th.  A passing motorist found her the next morning near an abandoned farmhouse southwest of Meadow Grove. She was taken to Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh for treatment of her injuries.
