Campaign Signs a No-No Along State Highways
LINCOLN - With Nebraska’s primary election a little more than a month away, campaign road signs are sure to be commonplace around the state. Nebraska Department of Roads Communications Director, Mary Jo Oie says there are lots of places where the signs are appropriate, such as people’s yards, but there are also places where they don’t belong, like the state’s roadways. Oie says Department of Roads maintenance crews will remove campaign signs illegally placed along state highways. They’ll be taken either to the department’s headquarters or to maintenance yards across the state, where owners can reclaim them.
