NORFOLK - In Monday night's meeting of the Norfolk City Council, the body passed unanimously, the ordinance increasing parking fine violations from $10 to $25; the fine has been $10 since 1986. It passed unanimously the ordinance reducing the parking time limit in off-street parking lots from three hours to two. The council changed the city code to restrict downtown parking from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, rather than Monday through Saturday and it updated the city’s comprehensive fee schedule, which increases fees for ambulances, appeals to the Zoning Board of Adjustment, parking stall rentals, and blood/urine tests related to DUIs. All of the measures go into effect October 1st.
