Former Priests Injured in Monday Crash

NORFOLK - Two former Norfolk priests were injured in a three-car crash Monday morning near Fremont on Highway 30. 63-year-old Fr. Harry Buse and 69-year-old Fr. Franklin Dvorak were on their way to a prayer group meeting at Schuyler when the accident occurred about 10:40 Monday morning. Authorities say they were slowed for a farm truck that was turning off of Highway 30 when their vehicle was struck from behind by a pickup. Buse, who is currently serving a parish in Bellevue, was a pastor at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh about 30 years ago, and at St. Mary's and Sacred Heart in Norfolk after that. Dvorak was recently sentenced to a life of prayer and penance after being found guilty by the archdiocese of sexually abusing a young girl while he was serving at the Norfolk parish from 1970 to 1972.
