Lake resigns as Norfolk Senior High principal

NORFOLK - James Lake has officially resigned as principal of Norfolk Senior High School and the Norfolk Public Schools’ Board of Education has unanimously accepted his resignation.  Superintendent Dr. Jami Jo Thompson, said the board received Lake’s  letter of resignation Wednesday, after which she and Lake wrote a joint statement which she read at a special meeting of the school board last (Thursday) night.  Thompson said "Lake's resignation was for personal and professional reasons related to differences in approachand philosophy regarding the leadership of the high school."  Thompson said Lake did not specify what those differences were, though she said she and Lake had had previous discussions about his possible resignation.  Thompson said the school’s staff is currently being led by the three assistant principals Jake Luhr, Mary Luhr and Dennis Dolliver.  Thompson says she anticipates assigning an interim principal soon and that the search will begin for a permanent replacement at the beginning of the second semester.
