LEAD Program Requires 60-Day Commitment
LINCOLN - It is time to request application information for the next Nebraska LEAD program. That’s according to Dr. Terry Hejny, executive director of the program that helps train leaders for agriculture and rural communities. Hejny says successful applicants are generally men and women between the ages of 25 and 50 who are involved in production agriculture or agri business and who have lived in Nebraska for at least three years. The personal cost to take part in the program is $2500, while UNL and other sponsors contribute about $14,000 per LEAD fellow. The deadline to apply is June 15th, but Hejny says it does take some time to fill out the application and get the required references. He says more information is available online at LEAD.unl.edu or by calling his office at (402) 472-6810.
