Library Week Celebrates Institution's 21st Century Role

NORFOLK - It’s National Library Week and Norfolk Public Library officials have scheduled a variety of special events to go along with the regular lineup of activities.     The weekly Wednesday movie has a library theme: “The Librarian: The Curse of the Judas Chalice” is slated for 2:30 Wednesday.  A special scavenger hunt is scheduled for Thursday.  Library Director Jessica Chamberlain says the institution's role has changed in the last 20 to 30 years, as society has entered the digital age.  Chamberlain points out that many job applications are exclusively on-line making access to the internet, which the library provides, extremely important for those who don't have the service at home.  For a complete list, go to the library’s web site at ci.norfolk.ne.us/library.
