Lots of Work Before Election is Official
MADISON - For some of us, the Primary Election is over once the unofficial vote totals are provided. But Madison County Clerk Nancy Scheer says she and her staff have a lot to do yet to make the unofficial totals official. Provisional ballots need to be reviewed, and some late-returned ballots have not yet been counted. The Board of Canvassers will meet Thursday morning to finalize the electin results. Scheer says about 26 percent of registered voters in Madison County cast ballots Tuesday. She says that total will come up a little when all provisional and late ballots are counted.
