Madison County Republican Candidates Square Off

NORFOLK - Candidates for the open District 1 Madison County Commissioners seat compared their experience at Monday night’s forum, hosted by NewsTalk WJAG.  Louis Pofahl says he has the desire, experience and judgment for the position, while Ron Schmidt says his background as a farmer and businessman will bring diversity to the three-member board.  Pofahl and Schmidt are both seeking the Republican nomination for the position, left open by the retirement of long-time commissioner Jerry McCallum. The winner of the May 13th Primary will face no opposition in the fall general election.  Candidates for County Commissioner District 3: incumbent Lee Klein and challenger Jim Prauner; and Madison County Public Defender: incumbent Kyle Melia and challenger Matthew Headley, also took part in the forum, held in the Norfolk City Council Chambers and aired life on NewsTalk WJAG and CableOne public access channel 12.
