Man Sprayed with Pepper Spray, Arrested for Trespassing

NORFOLK - A 27-year-old Norfolk man was sprayed with pepper spray and arrested for trespassing after he allegedly entered an apartment without permission. Norfolk Police Captain Mike Bauer says Nicholas Runyan reportedly followed a woman into apartment 3 at 1104 Koenigstein Avenue. The resident reported that he and his wife did not know the intruder, and Runyan became aggressive when asked to leave. That is when he was sprayed with pepper spray. Norfolk Rescue treated Runyan at the scene, and officers then arrested him for trespassing and took him to the Norfolk City Jail. He was later released on a cash bond.
