Nebraska State Patrol officials say troopers kill suspect following high-speed chase
BEE, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers shot and killed a man who had led them on a high-speed chase through three southeast Nebraska counties and fired multiple shots at troopers. Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins says the shooting happened Friday night when troopers approached a car in Stomsburg. The car sped off, throwing a passenger identified as 31-year-old Joseph Pritchard, of Stromsburg, to the ground. Pritchard was arrested on a warrant charging him with a parole violation. Troopers chased the car through three counties, and Collins says the driver fired several shots at pursing troopers. A cruiser rammed the car, sending it into a ditch. Collins says the driver then fired several times at troopers, who returned fire and killed the man, identified Saturday as 28-year-old Nathan Brokaw, of Brainard.
