Norfolk Firefighters Respond to Bank First Fire

NORFOLK - If your morning commute takes you past the intersection of 13th Street and Norfolk Avenue Wednesday, you may have noticed a lot of activity involving police cars and fire trucks.  Norfolk Fire Captain Steve Bettendorf says firefighters were dispatched this morning at around 7:50 to Bank First.  There were signs of smoke on the building’s 2nd floor.  Bettendorf says the smoke was the result of an overheeated furnace motor.  Bettendorf says no injuries or damage were reported.  Since the fire call was to a financial institution, Norfolk Police responded and provided security.
