Norfolk man arrested for domestic assault, child abuse

NORFOLK - Saturday night at around 7:00, Norfolk Police Officers investigated a fight between a man and woman in a car in the area of 117 Miller Avenue.  When officers arrived, Brandon W. Anderson, age 33 of Norfolk was walking on Miller Avenue with a torn shirt and multiple scratches.  Anderson told officers that he and his girlfriend, who had left the scene had had an argument and that it became physical.  The woman returned while officers were speaking with Anderson.  She had an injury to her upper and lower lip.  She stated that Anderson hit her in the mouth with an open hand and she tried to slide into the driver's seat of the vehicle to leave and that Anderson came into the driver's side to prevent her from leaving.  She said that she scratched Anderson as she was trying to push him off of her.  Three young children were in the in the car.  Following the investigation, Anderson was arrested for 3rd degree domestic assault and child abuse. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later released on cash bond.
