Norfolk Police Have Busy Weekend

NORFOLK - Norfolk Police officers had a busy weekend, including several arrests for drug possession. Police Captain Mike Bauer reports that 33-year-old Brent Botsko of Norfolk was arrested just after 5:30 Friday evening for third offense drunk driving with a blood alcohol level above .15 and for carrying a concealed weapon. Botsko was stopped in the area of 1st and Grove after an officer observed him fail to signal a lane change on three separate occasions. Later Friday night, Bauer says officers ticketed 27-year-old Steve Hernandez of Norfolk for possession of marijuana. At that time, officers seized a red mini vase from Hernandez’s vehicle, which later tested positive for methamphetamine. Hernandez was arrested at 1:21 Sunday morning for possession of a controlled substance. Officers also located more than $3900 in cash, two plastic baggies of marijuana, a plastic baggie of methamphetamine, a scale and measuring spoon. Hernandez was then charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Early Sunday afternoon, Bauer says officers arrested 51-year-old Bruce Wright for trespassing at 1222 Hayes. Officers also found two baggies on his person that tested positive for methamphetamine. Wright is considered to be homeless. And at 5:53 Sunday evening, officers stopped 30-year-old Clinton Pollard of Randolph near 6th and Michigan and arrested him on two Madison County warrants, two Pierce county warrants, driving under suspension and criminal impersonation.  All four men were taken to the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
