Norfolk Public Schools Working on Facilities Upgrades

NORFOLK - Each building in the Norfolk Public Schools District is unique – but the all have some similar challenges.  That’s what Director of Business Services Bill Robinson told members of the Board of Education during a study session before Monday night’s regular meeting.  Robinson says he has visited every building and talked with each principal to see what upgrades are needed and to evaluate each building’s potential to handle growth. During their meeting, members of the Board of Education approved bids for work on the junior high roof, fuel tank relocation to the current maintenance building and work on the junior high HVAC project. They also approved letting bids to replace doors on the Senior High gyms.  The work is part of a plan to do needed work on district buildings using a funding mechanism known as QCPUF bonding.
