Norfolk teen in youth detention center following fireworks-stand theft

NORFOLK - Sunday morning at around 7:00, Norfolk Police responded to a burglary at the Pyro Shack fireworks tent, at 1900 Center Drive. The owner, and victim, was awakened by the sounds of someone moving around inside of the tent.  The suspect ran into the parking lot.  The owner gave chase and was catching up to the suspect when the owner says the suspect turned, and pointed a black handgun at the owner and told him to get back.  The owner stopped the pursuit. It was determined that about $800 worth of fireworks had been stolen from the tent.   The owner identified the suspect as a 17-year-old boy.  Police officers located the suspect and recovered the stolen fireworks.  The gun was found to be a realistic looking BB gun. The 17-year-old was arrested for Burglary, Terroristic Threats, and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony. He is being held in the Madison County Youth Detention Center.
