Northeast Community College Grant Will Assist Returning Students

NORFOLK - Northeast Community College and the other five community colleges across Nebraska are sharing a half-million dollar grant from the Nebraska Community College Student Performance and Occupation Education Grant Program.  Vice President for Student Services John Blaylock says Northeast’s share is approximately $85,000, much of which will be used to help students complete their degrees.  Blaylock says they're looking for students who have had to quit school for financial reasons.  Blaylock says the money will also be used for faculty members’ professional development, geared toward helping students to become successful.  Blaylock says the funds come from the Coordinating Commission of Post-Secondary Education.
