Oktoberfest Draws Large Crowds to Norfolk
NORFOLK - Norfolk's second annual Oktoberfest drew large crowds to the city for a variety of events Friday night and Saturday. The official "tapping of the keg" ceremony was held at 5:30 Friday night, and samples of the special Oktoberfest beer, brewed by Gottberg's Brewery in Columbus, were shared with the crowd. Music filled the air all Friday night, and again on Saturday morning. Family activities were located on 7th Street between Norfolk and Madison avenues, including an inflatable midway and a root beer float stand, with Gottberg's special root beer and ice cream from Hiland. BankFirst is the presenting sponsor for the event, and BankFirst President Clark Froehlich promises that the event will be even larger next year.
