Power Line Snaps at 13th and Michigan Ave.

NORFOLK - Nebraska Public Power District workers quickly responded to a potentially dangerous situation and restored power to affected customers after a powerline snapped Sunday afternoon at the intersection of 13th Street and Michigan Ave. in Norfolk.  Norfolk Fire Division Capt. John Reding says strong winds and wet snow were likely the cause of the line snapping.  The situation was reported at 2:52 p.m.  Norfolk firefighters and police also responded.  North-south traffic was limited to one lane as NPPD workers repaired the damaged line.  Reding says power was restored within a half-hour.
