Record high temperature shattered

NORFOLK - The high temperature in Norfolk on Tuesday didn’t just break an old record – it shattered it.  At 1:05 yesterday afternoon, the temperature at the Norfolk Regional Airport hit 103 degrees, eclipsing the old record high of 96 set in 1915 and tied in 1941. At the same time, the relative humidity was a low 12-percent, producing a “feels like” temperature of 96.  Tuesday’s record high came a little more than 60 hours after the Norfolk area set a record low temperature of 29 degrees Sunday morning.
