Scheer: A Lot of Work Remains for State Lawmakers
LINCOLN - Lawmakers are a little more than half-way through the Nebraska State Legislature’s 60-day session, and Norfolk Sen. Jim Scheer says he and his colleagues in the Unicameral have a lot of bills to debate. Scheer says the Revenue Committee has yet to bring proposed tax legislation to the floor. Scheer says people want some form of tax relief, but says he’s not sure they’re going to get it this year. Scheer met with his constituents Wednesday during Madison County Day at the State Capitol. About two-dozen of the county’s government and business leaders met with Scheer, Governor Dave Heineman and other lawmakers in Lincoln.
