"Soy Roy" Smith Imparts Market Wisdom

NEWMAN GROVE - A Plattsmouth farmer who began researching market trends in 1982 says marketing follows seasonal trends and successful marketers pay attention to those trends.  Roy Smith, known as “Soy Roy,” talked about seasonal marketing trends Saturday morning at a Farmer Appreciation Day in Newman Grove. Smith said he is often asked for simple rules for successful marketing, and his list of five includes always forwarding contracting corn on May 1st and never holding unpriced old crop corn after July 10th.  Smith gave a presentation on seasonal marketing trends Saturday at a Farmers Appreciation Day in Newman Grove.
