Speeding Vehicles Get Attention of Norfolk Police

NORFOLK - A Norfolk man is in custody after officers say he sped down 13th Street Saturday night.  Norfolk Police Captain Mike Bauer says two officers observed a pair of cars driving approximately 20 miles-per-hour over the 35-mile-per-hour speed limit southbound on North 13th Street just before 7 p.m. Saturday.  As officers chased the pair, one continued straight, while the other turned onto a side street.  Officers continued to pursue the vehicle that continued straight.  Officers pulled over the vehicle driven by 27-year-old Daniel Chandler of Norfolk, whose drivers license proved to be suspended.  A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia that tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.  Chandler was arrested for driving under suspension and possession of a controlled substance.  He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
