Nebraska Lawdawgs rout Omaha on Saturday night

Chuck Wright threw four touchdown passes and the Lawdawg defense recorded two scores as the Nebraska Lawdawg football team routed the Omaha Outlaws 40-12 on Saturday night at the Norfolk Middle School Field.  Wright completed seven of 19 passes for 135 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions.  Wide receiver Steven Rush caught two balls on the evening with both being touchdowns from 9 & 23 yards.  The Norfolk-based Lawdawgs' Don Oliver had a fumble recovery for a score in the first quarter and Rob Mitchell had a 31 yard interception return for a score late in the second quarter.  The Lawdawgs outgained the Omaha in yardage 219-162.  The Lawdawgs' Troy Hofer had 5 ½ tackles and a sack to lead the team defensively.  There was a combined 19 penalties on the evening for 117 yards.  The Lawdawgs are now 5-1 on the season while the Outlaws drop to 6-2.   The Lawdawgs will be in action next on Saturday when they play the Minot Oilers in Selby, South Dakota.
