Norfolk High girls track & field gets underway on Saturday
The Norfolk High girls track & field team gets their season underway on Saturday when they participate in the Omaha Burke Relays. The Lady Panthers return seven girls who were involved in the State Track & Field Championships from a year ago in Erica Dover who placed second in the shot-put, Chelsea Johnson who was sixth in the 300 hurdles & part of the third place 4X400 relay, Jaycee Bradley who was part of the 4X400 relay also, Claire Sintek who was seventh in the high jump, Abby Protzman, and Taylor Thompson who was seventh in the high jump two years ago. Norfolk High has 50 athletes out this season with four being seniors, 16 juniors, twelve sophomores, and 18 freshmen. Their remaining schedule has them competing in invitationals hosted by Millard West, Ralston, Grand Island, Fremont, their own invitational on April 25th, the Northeast Nebraska Track & Field Classic on May 1st, the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference Meet at North Platte, and a road dual with Columbus on April 14th.
