Norfolk High hosts girls golf & cross country invitationals
The Norfolk High girls golf team hosted their own invitational Friday at the Norfolk Country Club. Grand Island was the team champion with a 345. They won by 16 strokes. Norfolk finished eleventh with a 398. Maddie Koening of Lincoln Pius X was the medalist with an 81. She won by a single stroke. The Lady Panthers were led by Sami Bruening's 17th place finish. She shot a 92.
The Norfolk High cross country team hosted their own invite at Skyview Lake on Friday. In the boys race, Papillion La Vista South was the champion with a score of 40. Millard West was second with 50 and Norfolk took third with a mark of 102. Millard West's Seth Hirsch won the race in 15:52. He won by five seconds. The Panthers' Andrew Meuret & TeJai Clausen were eleventh & twelfth respectively. In the girls race, Yankton was the team champion with a score of 38. They won by nine points. Norfolk finished seventh with a score of 171. Yankton's Anne Kruse was the champion in 18:50. She won by 1:12. The Lady Panthers' Abby Protzman placed 13th to lead her team. Norfolk Catholic's Rylan Rasmussen won the boys 7th & 8th grade race while schoolmate Audrey Stelling won the girls 7th & 8th grade race.
