Northeast Hawks men's golf & Norfolk Catholic cross country in action
The Northeast Hawks men's golf team participated in the first day of the Dakota Wesleyan Invitational at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell, South Dakota on Friday. Northwestern College of Iowa leads with a 279. They have a five stroke advantage. Individually, Neil Malenke of Northwestern College of Iowa has a two stroke lead with a 65. The Hawks are led by Alex Dredge's 75.
The Norfolk Catholic cross country teams participated in Crofton Invite on Friday. In the boys race, the host team was the champion with a score of 20. South Sioux City was second with a 39, and Norfolk Catholic took third with 54 points. Osmond's Cameron Moes was the champion in 17:26.11. He won by two-tenths of a second. The Knights' Cameron Carney was eighth, Matthew Wieser finished twelfth, and Zach Ruppert was 15th. In the girls race, Wayne was the team champion with a score of 26. They won by four points. Norfolk Catholic was fourth in the four-team race with 42. Haley Fritza of South Sioux City was the champion in 21:05.28. She won by just less than five seconds. The Lady Knights' Joelle Heng finished seventh, Nicole Aschoff was twelfth, and Jennifer Blank placed 14th. The Norfolk Catholic junior high girls team won their race and Rylan Rasmussen of the junior high boys team won his race.
