Jason Vargas threw seven scoreless innings, Raul Ibanez homered in his second game for Kansas City and the Royals beat the Minnesota Twins 4-0 yesterday.

Defending champ Andy Murray has been knocked out in the Wimbledon quarterfinals by 11th seed Grigor Dimitrov.  Up next for Dimitrov is Novak Djokovic, who reached the Wimbledon semifinals for the fifth consecutive year, coming back to beat 26th-seeded Marin Cilic.  Seven-time champ Roger Federer disposed of Australian Open champ Stan Wawrinka. Federer will play Canadian Milos Raonic in the semis. The women's semifinals are set. Simona Halep and Eugenie Bouchard advanced with straight set wins. They join Petra Kvitova and Lucie Safarova in the final four.

An arbitrator has ruled that the Saints' Jimmy Graham is a tight end and that’s how he'll get paid for purposes of his franchise tag.  Graham and the NFL Players association filed a grievance arguing that Graham was used as a wide receiver often enough to qualify for the more lucrative receiver tag. The arbitrator disagreed and now the NFLPA is reviewing his ruling.  The decision could cost Graham $5.3 million. That's the difference between what a franchise tag wide receiver and tight end receive.
Steffi Neisen joined an elite list in Nebraska history when she was named an All-American Scholar for the fourth time in her career by the Women's Golf Coaches Association yesterday.  Neisen who completed her senior season for Coach Robin Krapfl's Huskers in 2013-14, became the fifth Nebraska women's golfer to earn four WGCA Scholastic All-America awards in her career.
