Rafael Nadal has won his second U.S. Open title by downing Novak Djokovic 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.  It's the 13th Grand Slam title for Nadal, who also beat Djokovic in the 2010 U.S. Open final. Djokovic was leading 2-1 in the third set before Nadal won eleven of the next 14 games.

The Omaha Storm Chasers baseball team will host Salt Lake in the opening game of the best-of-five Pacific Coast League Championship series tonight at 7:05.  The Storm Chasers won the American Northern Division by a single game over Memphis and then swept Oklahoma City 3-0 in the American Conference Series.  The Bees claimed the Pacific Northern Division by two games over Tacoma and then beat Las Vegas 3-1 in the Pacific Conference Series.  Salt Lake went 78-66 while Omaha finished 70-74.  The two teams split four games this season.

The Nebraska volleyball team jumped from 13th to twelfth in the American Volleyball Coaches Associated poll after a 2-0 week.  This past weekend, they beat Villanova & Georgia.  The 4-1 Huskers return to action Thursday-Saturday when they host the Ameritas Players Challenge.  Creighton drops from 19th to 24th after a 2-1 week.  This past weekend, they beat Northern Colorado & South Florida while falling to 23rd ranked California.  The 4-1 Bluejays return to action tonight when they host Kansas at 7:00.  

Norfolk Catholic and Lutheran High Northeast goes head to head tonight in volleyball at Lutheran High Northeast High School at 7:30.  The Class "C-2" 4-1 Lady Eagles are ranked first in the Omaha World Herald & the Lincoln Journal Star while the Class 'C-1' 2-3 Lady Knights come into tonight unranked.  Lutheran High Northeast has beaten Bancroft/Rosalie, Pender, Wakefield, and Wayne while falling to Wisner/Pilger this season.  Norfolk Catholic has defeated Pierce twice while dropping matches to Schuyler, Columbus Lakeview, and Bishop Neumann.
