Stanton County Authorities Release Identity of Dead Woman, Autopsy Will Be Friday

NORFOLK - Stanton County authorities are waiting for autopsy results in connection with what Sheriff Mike Unger calls an “unexpected and unexplained” death. Unger reports that the body of 38-year-old Keisha Spears was found about 4 Thursday morning in a house in the 3200 block of East Norfolk Avenue.  Unger says the autopsy is being conducted Friday morning at the Douglas County Hospital in Omaha. He says the results from toxicology tests will not be available for several weeks. Unger says his officers have been called to the home in the recent past. Kevin Broberg, who lives at the address where the body was found, pleaded no-contest Tuesday in Stanton County Court to a misdemeanor count of false reporting in connection with a December incident. At that time, Unger reported his officers found a woman restrained and unresponsive in Broberg’s home.  Court records indicate that woman was Keisha Spears.
