State One-Act Championships Begin Wednesday at Johnny Carson Theatre

NORFOLK - The State High School One-Act Play Production Championships get underway Wednesday morning at the Johnny Carson Theatre.  Class D-2 casts take the stage in the morning starting with North Loup-Scotia at 8:30, followed by Arcadia, Wauneta-Palisade, Hyannis, Bruning-Davenport and Ewing.  The Ewing play is scheduled to begin at 12:15.  Class D-1 gets the spotlight in the afternoon beginning at 2:00 with Meridian High School.  They’ll be followed by Paxton, Wausa, Loup City, Osceola and Hampton.  Each play can last for no more than 30 minutes and 30 seconds and each production begins 45 minutes following the start of the previous one.  Classes C-1 and C-2 perform Thursday, while Classes A and B take to the stage Friday.  You can attend any or all of the plays at the Johnny Carson Theatre.  Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for students.  Make sure you arrive in plenty of time for the play you’d like to see.  Once it starts, the theater doors will be closed and you’ll have to wait in the lobby until it’s finished.
