Two-thirds of Norfollk Public Schools replacement staff already hired for 2013-14

NORFOLK - Norfolk Public Schools has hired approximately two-thirds of the replacement staff needed for the coming school year.  At Monday's night's meeting, the Board of Education approved contracts for 16 staff members, and Superintendent Marlene Uhing reported that brings the total hired so far to about 25.  She says 17 teachers have retired this year, and 18 have resigned.  Uhing says there has been a good pool of applicants for the district's elementary vacancies, and more than 80 applicants sought the social science position.
