Viaero Great American Comedy Festival includes kids' activities

NORFOLK - The Viaero Great American Comedy Festival is just a month-and-a-half away and organizers have some special activities planned for the kids.  The festival’s executive director, Lori Williams says Laugh and Learn Sessions in the Elkhorn Valley Museum’s meeting room are planned for the first three days: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, June 12th, 13th and 14th.  There’s “Magic Wednesday,” for kids ages 7-to-11.  Norfolk magician John Laskowski will instruct and will feature a guest appearance by at least one of the magicians scheduled to perform later that night at the Johnny Carson Theatre.  Two “Improv Thursday” sessions are scheduled: a morning class for 10-to-13 year olds and one for 14-to18 year olds in the afternoon.  Then it’s “Sketch-Writing Friday,”  Ewing speech and drama instructor LuAnn Schindler and Minneapolis comedian Amber Preston will teach the improve and sketch-writing sessions.  Preston was a finalist in last year’s competition.  You can find out more information and sign at the website, greatamericancomedyfestival.com.  There is a limit of 20 students for each session.
