Wayne County Commissioner faces recall election

WAYNE - The fate of Wayne County Commissioner Kelvin Wurdeman is in the hands of voters today.  Wurdeman’s fellow commissioners set the recall election last March following a successful petition effort begun by Jerold Meyer.  The recall affidavit cites Wurdeman’s conviction after pleading no contest to charges that he stole a truckload of publicly owned scrap metal for which he was fined $1,000.  Meyer collected 342 signatures, nearly 100 more than the 250 needed.
