Wellness Grant Is Investment, Not Gift

NORFOLK - Blue Cross – Blue Shield of Nebraska representatives were in Norfolk last night to present a Wellness Grant to the Northeast Nebraska Coalition for Suicide Education and Prevention. Rob Trebilcock is the director of marketing operations and community engagement for Blue Cross. He says the $10,000 grant is not a gift – it’s an investment. Trebilcock says wellness is much more than a walk or other physical activity, and this grant will help provide both mental and physical health support for those who have lost a loved one to suicide. Donna Wolff, president and co-founder of the Northeast Nebraska Coalition for Suicide Education and Prevention, says part of the grant money will be used for training to start a peer-to-peer support group for youth ages 12 to 18 who have been affected by a suicide. Norfolk Mayor Sue Fuchtman and Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mark Zimmerer attended the event, which included a balloon release.
