Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh, a Radio Talk Show Host and political commentator, is featured on WJAG News Talk Radio weekdays from 1PM to 4PM.

Rush Limbaugh started his radio profession as a teenager in his hometown of Cape Girardeau, using Rusty Sharpe as his name. After dropping out of college, Limbaugh moved to Pennsylvania and later became a Top 40 music disc jockey on WIXZ, a small AM radio station that reached much of the Pittsburgh area. He went on to start an afternoon show broadcasting under the name Jeff Christie. He was fired when the station was sold and told he would never mae it as an on air talent.

Following this disappointment, Limbaugh continued to pursue a radio career, taking jobs at several radio stations before settling in Kansas City. After a brief stint as director of promotions with the Kansas City Royals, Limbaugh returned to radio in California at KFBK. His successes grew, and he moved to New York City in 1988 to begin his national radio show. This show became the start of what is now known as The Rush Limbaugh Show.

Limbaugh has also become known as a New York Times Bestselling Author with his books The Way Things Ought to Be and See, I Told You So refelecting his views on liberal policies and politicians. Limbaugh currently lives in Palm Beach, Florida where he braocasts The Rush Limbaugh Show, which is currently the highest-rated talk-radio program in the United States.
